Tech women edge out floundering Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Brigitte Ardossi scored 27 points, including two free throws with 25 seconds left, and No. 19 Georgia Tech beat Miami 77-73 on Sunday.

Miami had two opportunities to tie or take the lead after Ardossi's free throws, but the Hurricanes (16-11, 3-9 ACC) twice committed turnovers.

Deja Foster converted two free throws with 1.1 left to secure the Yellow Jackets a regular season sweep. Georgia Tech (21-7, 7-5) also defeated the Hurricanes 80-73 on Jan. 21.

Ardossi's short jumper with 2:47 left gave Georgia Tech a 73-64 lead, but Miami answered with nine straight points. Shenise Johnson's two free throws with 49 seconds remaining tied it 73-73.

Johnson had 28 points to lead Miami, which has lost four straight.
