UNDATED - Ronald Edward Smith was arrested Friday evening. He has been charged with Felony Murder in connection with the death of 40-year-old Genai Coleman.
Ms. Coleman was murdered in July of 2008 while waiting in her car for her daughter in a Duluth parking lot. Smith has been connected to this murder after a long term investigation, actively spanning almost 1 ½ years and through forensic evidence found in and around the scene of the crime.
At the time of his arrest Smith was found in Lawrenceville, although he is known to be essentially homeless. The motive for this crime remains under investigation. However, at this time, it appears that Coleman was not known to Smith.
Fifty-one year old Smith is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
