WINDER - The Barrow County Sheriff's Office has arrested Todd Orr, 46, in
connection with the Dec. 25th shooting at his home.
Orr is the Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services Lieutenant who was involved in a struggle at his home over a high powered hunting rifle with his 21-year-old daughter, Tiffany Thomas.
Both Orr and Thomas were injured during the struggle for control of the rifle that discharged during the altercation. Thomas' right arm was severed
below the elbow. Thomas is also eight months pregnant.
Orr suffered injuries to his hand and his chest.
Investigators charged Orr with one count of Reckless Conduct (a misdemeanor) and one count of Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree (felony).
Bond has been set at a total of $19,000 in this case. More information will be
released as it becomes available.
