GAINESVILLE - Youngsters showing up at the Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK) museum in the Featherbone Communiversity Center on Chestnut Street this New Year's Eve day had a year's end celebration of their own Friday.

According to executive Director Sheri Hooper a magic show, pizza for lunch, arts and crafts, even a New Year's Eve parade was in store for the kids to bring in the New Year and say goodbye to 2010.

"It is for kids," Hooper said. "I grew up understanding how difficult it is to have the kids stay up 'til Midnight, so here at INK we've created a new event where we celebrate at Noon. That way the young families can come together and play and have a great time throughout the day and the parents can really feel they've really celebrated with the kids."

Among the early arrivals were Payton and Carson Bergquist with their Mom, Sonya who got busy right away in the arts and crafts room.

"There are plenty of activities to do along with the arts and crafts that focus on the New Year's Eve celebration," Hooper added.
