OAKWOOD -- Johnson let an early slip away against Class AAAA Forsyth Central and the Lady Bulldogs pulled away for a 57-44 win in the championship game of the JHS Holiday Shootout at Johnson High School.
The Lady Knights (6-6) led 11-9 after the first quarter but Forsyth Central (10-1) outscored Johnson 21-10 in the second quarter to take control. The Lady Bulldogs extended their lead to 42-28 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Knights were paced by Cailin Sloan, who had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Forsyth Central was led by Christy Hewatt with 13 points.
Johnson will have a week off before playing host West Hall in both teams' Region 8B-AAA subregion opener.
