Woman describes stabbing

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
FLOWERY BRANCH - The South Hall woman who was stabbed by a young man who came to her door Wednesday morning is out of the hospital and talking about the incident.

Revonda Haynie tells Fox 5 she answered a knock at her back door about 9:30 and a young man asked her if she would like to buy some candy. Haynie says when she told him "no" because she didn't have any money, he pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the abdomen.

Haynie says she screamed for her husband and her attacker, described only as Hispanic and in his late teens, fled.

Haynie was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. She was released Thursday and allowed to return home.

The incident has prompted the Hall County Sheriff's Office to warn against opening a door at your house to anyone you do not know. "Talk to them throught the door," says spokesman Jeff Strickland.

The sheriff's department has released a composite sketch of Haynie's assailant.

The Haynies live on Bald Eagle Place off Calvary Church Road.
