Accident causes north Gainesville traffic headache

GAINESVILLE - A major traffic snarl developed in Gainesville shortly after lunch Wednesday.

It was the result of an accident at Washington Street at E.E. Butler Parkway and lasted for more than 30 minutes.

Traffic on Green at times was backed up to the Gainesville Civic Center.

Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Holbrook said there were subjects transported to the medical center for evaluations, however, no serious injuries were reported. He said one subject was cited for failure to yield right of way.
