GAINESVILLE - All lanes of Athens Highway are now open after being shut down for several hours near Barrett Road as Hall County firefighters responded to the scene of a house fire.
Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said units arrived at the 2500 block of Athens Highway around 11:45 Monday morning to find roughly 25 percent of the home involved in the blaze.
He said one person has been transported via air ambulance to Grady Hospital in Atlanta for smoke inhalation. No other injuries have been reported.
Kimbrell said the cause of the fire has not been determined.
