OAKWOOD - For the second day in a row, a burglary-in-progress call in the Oakwood area leads to some arrests.

The suspects in Tuesday's incident were arrested after they wrecked their car following a brief chase with Oakwood police on McEver Road.

The car crashed at McEver and Holiday Lane shortly after a house on Apache Circle was broken into about 10:30.

Col. Jeff Strickland of the Hall County Sheriff's Office said 22-year-old Jesus Gonzalez Belmares and 17-year-old Lazarto Lopez were taken into custody.

Strickland said Belmares' 3-year-old daughter was in the car during the chase and subsequest chase but was not seriously injured. He said she has been released to the Department of Family and Children Services

In addition, he said items taken in the Apache Circle burglary were recovered from the vehicle.

Monday, five teenagers were arrested after a manhunt in the Oakwood area following a mid-morning burglary on Windy Hill Cirle.
