Hearing on fired Forsyth official's appeal ends

CUMMING - The hearing of an appeal of a fired Forsyth County official has ended but the county's civil service board did not immediately rule on the matter.

The eight-day hearing ended Thursday.

Former planinng director Jeff Chance says politics were involved in his dismissal; county officials say that's not so.

Chance was fired this summer because, the county says, he violated numerous polices and misused his county email account.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says the civil service board has 30 days to make a decision.
