GAINESVILLE - If you are wondering about those police barricades sitting on the grass at intersections along Green Street it's all about Christmas... Christmas on Green Street that is.
The annual Gainesville holiday tradition will be held starting at 5:00 Sunday afternoon and the street will be closed to traffic all but pedestrian traffic from 4:00 until 8:30 between the Thompson Bridge Road/Park Hill Drive interesection and Butler Parkway.
The parade starts at 5:00 and throughout the evening there will be carolers and other music groups, carriage rides, and the lighting of the Rotary Tree at Butler and Green, among other things.
