ATLANTA - The arraignment of former University of Georgia athletic director and Hall County native Damon Evans has been postponed until January.
Evans had been scheduled to appear in Atlanta Municipal Court on Wednesday in the drunken driving case that led to his resignation.
Evans was arrested on the night of June 30, minutes before a new contract paying him over $500,000 a year was to take effect. He resigned five days later.
The police report says a state trooper pulled over Evans' 2009 BMW. Evans was charged with DUI, illegal lane change and failure to submit to an alcohol test.
Evans' companion, Courtney Fuhrmann, was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly refusing to obey a trooper's request to stay in the car. She is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 13.
