In addition, the state patrol says there were 888 injuries in 2,348 accidents during the Thanksgiving counting period which began at 6 p.m. Wednesday and ended at midnight Sunday.

There were two double-fatality accidents... one in Cherokee County and one in the Madison area.

Northeast Georgia recorded no traffic fatalities over the holiday weekend. The state patrol reports 83 accidents in the region, resulting in 36 injuries. Among the latest accidents: two near the outlet stores in Dawsonville but state troopers tell us neither was serious.
