DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County now has a Facebook page, one of the latest in local governments to begin utilizing the popular social network.
County officials say it will be used to "connect with and inform" both residents and non-residents of Dawson County about upcoming county events as well as share photos and other important and useful information concerning the county.
Government and Community Affairs Director Cathy Brooks created the page with intentions of having a fast and easy way to inform Facebook users of the many events going on within the community.
Hall County government is also on Facebook, having created a page there only recently.
"County government is most effective when citizens are involved. Facebook offers the community yet another way to receive important information from us and to interact," said Brooks. "This communication tool further enhances our In Touch with your Dawson County Government communications initiative," Brooks added.
If you have a Facebook page, and would like to connect to Dawson County's, simply type in Dawson County Government in the search bar and press "Like."
