ATLANTA - Think you might be due a tax refund?
The Internal Revenue Service is looking for 4,714 Georgia taxpayers who are due refund checks worth a total of more than $7 million.
The checks were returned to the IRS by the U.S. Postal Service because of mailing address errors.
The IRS says the average undeliverable refund in Georgia is $1,522.
Taxpayers who think they may be owed a refund can use the "Where's My Refund?" tool on the agency's website, IRS.gov.
Nationwide, a total of 111,893 taxpayers are due refunds that could not be delivered.
The IRS does not contact taxpayers via e-mail regarding refunds, but warned that there are common scams online that send messages that appear to be from the IRS.
