3 to review Ga. county commissioner's suspension

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - Gov. Sonny Perdue has appointed a three-member commission to determine whether Gwinnett County Commissioner Kevin Kenerly should be suspended from office.

Perdue issued an order on Wednesday appointing Attorney General Thurbert Baker, Cobb County Commissioner Tim Lee and Forsyth County Commissioner Charlie Laughinghouse to review an indictment against Kenerly.

Kenerly was indicted last month on one count of bribery and two counts of failing to disclose a financial interest in connection to his alleged dealings with a developer who owned property considered for rezoning.

The commission will determine whether indictment relates to and adversely affects the administration of Kenerly's duties.

The commission's report is due within 14 days.
