Emergency landing at Gainesville airport

GAINESVILLE - A plane on a flight from Virginia to Peachtree City made an emergency landing in Gainesville early this morning.

Gainesville police say the plane developed engine trouble about 4:00 and diverted to Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport where it landed without incident.

Apparently the pilot was having trouble with one engine on the twin-engine plane.

The people on the plane were returning from the Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech football game in Blacksburg, Virginia.

They continued their journey home to Peachtree City by taxi.
