Lula man killed in tow truck accident

BUFORD - A Lula man has died of injuries received in an accident involving his tow truck.

The incident happened early Friday afternoon in the 2000 block of Amber Creek Drive in Buford and took the life of Julian Baugh..

"Preliminary investigation indicated that the operator of the tow truck failed to activate the emergency brake of the vehicle prior to exiting," according to M.K. Wyman, a spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. "After the vehicle rolled forward, the operator fell, and was struck by the vehicle while he tried to press the brake pedal with his hand."

Baugh was retired from the Hall County Corrections Department and was owner and operator of Baugh's Towing.
