ATLANTA - Two northeast Georgia communities are among eight approved for financing for water, sewer and stormwater system improvements.
The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority says the package totals $18.2 million.
The White County Water Authority was approved for a $1.2 million, no-interest loand and a $500,000 subsidy to finance water system improvements, including new water lines, a storage tank and a well.
The City of Royston, meanwhile, is getting a $462,000 loan to finance new automated meter reading systems.
Nashville, Hawkinsville, Roswell, DeKalb County, Hinesville and Summerville will also share in the funds.
