Gainesville man to head real estate group

GAINESVILLE - Frank N. Simpson of Gainesville has been elected the 2011 president of the CCIM Institute, an international commercial real estate organization with 15,000 members worldwide. The institute confers the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation to qualified commercial real estate and allied professionals.

Simpson is president of The Simpson Company, a full-service commercial real estate firm in Gainesville. He will be installed as president of the institute at its fall business meetings in Orlando. Simpson is the organization's 45th president and the fourth to hail from Georgia.

A 24-year commercial real estate veteran, Simpson has developed several office and industrial buildings in north Georgia. He has represented both buyers and sellers in transactions involving industrial, retail, office, and special-purpose real estate such as churches. Clients have included several Fortune 500 companies, government entities, national retailers, hospitals and other commercial real estate users and investors.

Simpson served as the 2004 president of the 300-member Georgia CCIM Chapter. He is a life member and recipient of the Phoenix Award with the Board of Realtors. Simpson serves on the Economic Development Council of the Greater Hall County Georgia Chamber of Commerce and is the founding president of the Hall County YMCA. He has also served on the Brenau University Advisory Board and numerous non-profit boards of directors.
