Man hit by car

GAINESVILLE - A 54-year-old man is recovering after being hit by a car early Monday on Ridge Road near the Cargill plant.

Kevin Holbrook, a spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department, says the man was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for evaluation but was "up and walking around" when police arrived about 7:00.

Holbrook says the man was walking along side or on the road at the time of the accident.
