Veteran Atlanta TV newsman retiring

ATLANTA - A fixture in Atlanta television news for more than 40 years - John Pruitt - is retiring.

Pruitt - a longtime anchor for WSB-TV - spent his whole career in Atlanta with Channel 2 except 1978 through 1994, when he was at WXIA.

In recent years, he had given up anchor duties at 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. but continued with the 6:00 p.m. on WSB.

Pruitt plans to retire at the end of the year, according to the WSB Web site. (See link below for more details.)
