Rainey rejoins No. 22 Gators after stalking charge

By The Associated Press
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida receiver Chris Rainey has returned to the team after being dismissed last month following a charge of aggravated stalking.

Coach Urban Meyer said in a statement Tuesday that Rainey is practicing with the No. 22 Gators. Meyer said Rainey won't play Saturday against Mississippi State, adding that ``the timetable for his return will depend on his ability to follow the guidelines we have laid out for him.''

Rainey allegedly sent a woman he used to date a threatening text message.
Meyer expresses disappointment that Rainey violated a core value of the program and said he ``continues to pay a price for his actions.''

Rainey agreed to a plea deal on a misdemeanor charge two weeks ago. Rainey apologized in a statement, saying he was ``embarrassed'' by his actions.
