Lopera named Golden Tiger of the Week

GAINESVILLE -- Freshman Cross Country runner Ana Lopera (a Flowery Branch High graduate) has been named Golden Tiger of the Week for her performance last Saturday.

Ana set a personal record in the 5K of 21:24 at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic, one of the largest collegiate races in the country.

"Ana has been an inspiration to this team. She trained consistently all summer and called many of her teammates to meet her for a run," said head coach Susan McIntyre. "On Wednesdays she met a future recruit for long runs at Chicopee Woods and is still in contact with this recruit, who has now applied to Brenau. Ana is willing to be a leader as a freshman and brings so much to the team. She is extremely proud to be a Brenau Golden Tiger."
