Uga VIII to debut at Georgia homecoming game

ATHENS - Uga VIII will make his debut at the University of Georgia's homecoming game next weekend.

The newest bulldog mascot replaces his half brother, Russ. Russ was a stand-in for Uga VII, who died Nov. 19. Because Russ is a 5-year-old, he was too old to become a permanent replacement.

The Seiler family, who has owned and bred the signature UGA bulldogs since 1956, will introduce Uga VIII at a pre-game ceremony.

Georgia is facing Vanderbilt University for its homecoming on Oct. 16 at 12:21 in Sanford Stadium.
