BUFORD -- The Buford High boys basketball team took control of their game against Cross Keys on either side of halftime to secure a 65-44 win on Tuesday in Buford.
The Wolves (8-8, 5-3 Region 6-AA) pulled away from an 11-11 tie after the first quarter, taking a 26-21 halftime advantage that grew to 41-30 heading into the fourth quarter.
Buford's T.J. Shipes proved unstoppable in the second half, scoring 20 of his game-high 26 points over the final 16 minutes.
Cross Keys got 15 points from Taj Foster in the loss.
Buford will travel to take on Westminster on Friday night in Atlanta.
