Gainesville quarterback Blake Sims says he is no longer committed to play football for the University of Alabama and has re-opened the recruiting process.
The senior, who led the Red Elephants to the Class AAA title game this season, compiling 3,152 total yards and 43 touchdowns, told Rivals.com that it was a "painful decision" to take his name off the list of non-binding verbal commitments for the newly-crowned BCS champions. But after thinking long and hard, Sims says that he simply wanted to look at as many schools as possible.
The Class AAA offensive player of the year also told Rivals that he will still be in contact with Alabama but will also look at Tennessee, West Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, and Michigan.
National Signing Day, when football players can make their verbal commitments binding is Feb. 3.
