Softball: No. 1 Buford pounds Lovett

ATLANTA - Junior pitcher Melissa Dickie tossed a no-hitter to lead Class AA No. 1 Buford to a 9-0 win over rival Lovett in Region 6-AA action Tuesday.

Dickie struck out seven and walked just two in earning her fifth win of the season. Buford (15-4, 5-0 in region) scored three runs in top of the second, three runs in top of the third, and then put the game away with three more runs in the fourth to send the game into the 10-run Mercy Rule.

The Lady Wolves banged out 14 hits behind three hit games from junior Whitney Wolfe and sophomore Madison Wynegar. Sophomore Lexi Overstreet and senior Samantha Ramey each had two hits for Buford.
