Lake leval just shy of 1069

BUFORD - The level of Lake Lanier which continue to rise over the weekend because of runoff from last week's heavy rains is now just shy of 1069... which is two feet below full pool.<br /> <br /> The benefit to the lake from the rains has exceeded the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' expectations.<br /> <br /> The corps had predicted that runoff from the rains would push the level to 1068.5 over the weekend but as of Sunday morning that had been exceeded by a quarter-of-a-foot and by Monday morning, it was within inches of 1069... at 1068.91.<br /> <br /> With more heavy rains falling across the lake drainage basin Saturday, the level is expected to go up even more for several more days.
