BRASELTON - Practice and qualifying begin today for Saturday's running of the 12th annual Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, but some of the schedule for this week has had to be altered because of the heavy rains earlier in the week.
Move-in time for campers and RVs was moved back to 8 a.m. because of an "over saturation" of the camping and parking areas at the 2.5-mile road course and the roads into and out of the complex. Track officials said they were going to take extra time to prepare for campers and RVs to try and avoid having vehicles get stuck in the infield mud.
Practice and qualifying will continue today, tomorrow and Friday... with the green flag dropping on the 10-hour endurance race at 11 a.m. Saturday. Road Atlanta is where the American Le Mans Series idea started and annually brings together the worldâ
