Volleyball: West Hall gets sweep of Apalachee, Lumpkin

OAKWOOD - The West Hall volleyball team continued its strong play of late sweeping a pair of matches at home Thursday.

The Lady Spartans opened with 25-15, 26-24 win over Apalachee and then whipped Lumpkin County 25-17, 25-4 in the second match.

Sophomore Tonya Bennett led the Lady Spartans offense with a combined 11 kills and 4 digs. Senior Erica Grainger added 10 aces and 14 assists and had a service run of 10 points for West Hall

Senior Sadie Cornett had eight aces in the two matches. Nicolette Ashley had a combined 15 digs for West Hall.

The Lady Spartans next will travel to North Hall on Tuesday in an Area 7-AAA tri-match with North Hall and East Hall.
