CLEVELAND - Firefighters from three departments fought a two-story house fire in White County early Thursday.
Volunteers from the White County Fire Department responded along with units from the Cleveland and Lumpkin County fire departments, and the fire department from Lee Arrendale State Prison.
The fire was in a house on Larla Davis Road at Asbury Mill Road.
White County Fire Department spokeswoman Ana Newberry said that upon arrival of the first units, the house was three-fourths engulfed in flames.
"Thankfully, all occupants of the home were already out of the
structure," Newberry said. "They were alerted by their smoke detectors."
Firefighters remained at the scene well after daybreak. There were no injuries but the house is a total loss.
Cause of the fire has not been determined but White County Fire Investigator Robert Wilkins has ruled it "not suspicious."
