I am still amazed as I hear updates on the Jaycee Lee Dugard child kidnapping incident. And, what is really odd is the fact that I should no longer be amazed at such stories. Considering the fact that I have spent the last 30 years or so in the law enforcement and judicial arena, it is needless to say that I have seen a lot. But this case and many cases before this one involving child abductions still amaze me.<br />

My amazement has nothing to do with the actual facts of this case. As sad as they are, they are nothing new. Nor does my amazement have anything to do with the obvious easy prey that a child presents to one of these type offenders. Child predators have never been known for their bravery. Of course they pick easy targets! And my amazement has nothing to do with the blank looks on the accusedâ
