HIAWASSEE - Lakeview Academy used its running game to take control of the game in the first half and then held on in the second half to beat Towns County 21-13 friday night on the road.
The Lions (1-1) got two short touchdown runs and a two-point conversion from Dalton Monday and a 45-yard touchdown run from Tom Drury in the win.
Lakeview coach Matthew Gruhn said it was a relief after last week's heartbreaking, one-point loss to Fellowship Christian.
"It is good to see the kids feel good about themselves with a win," Gruhn said. "That was a tough one last week. I thought we did a better job of finishing the game this week. I feel like we're headed in the right direction."
The Lions led 13-7 at halftime and then put the game out of reach with a third quarter touchdown and two-point conversion to lead 21-7. Towns County (0-2) scored late to cut into the lead.
Free safety Jackson Wells had one interception for Lakeview.
