TIGER - The Jefferson volleyball team came away with a 2-0 win over Rabun County Tuesday in Region 8-AA/A action.
In the first game, both teams battled to a 15-15 tie before the Lady Dragons exploded to win 10 of the final 13 points to a 25-18 win. Jefferson put the match away by taking the second game 25-19.
Cassie Metcalf led the way, espcially in the first game, with four consecutive aces to spark the late run. Metcalf and Megan Wilson and Carolyn Carreno, who came off the bench, both sparked the Game 2 win
Metcalf finished with four aces and Megaan Wilson had one. Metcalf also had one kill. Stephanie Fincher had five kills, Taylor Cramsey four, and Eden Starnes three for Jefferson.
Karla Carreno led the Lady Dragons with 10 assists and Mandy Daniel had one assist.
