Dawson Co. parks implementing new cost-cutting measures

DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County is trying to cut costs in its parks and recreation department even more.

The hours of operation for Rock Creek Sports Complex and Veterans Memorial Park will be changing, all in an effort to save money. The changes are effective October 1.

Gates will be open each day from 7am until 9pm. The business office will be open Monday through Saturday, 8am until 4pm...and it will be closed on Sundays.

And there are a handful of days, starting in September, when the hours will change for Dawson County Parks and Rec.

Here is a schedule of the changes:

Monday - Saturday

Gates open: 7:00AM - 9:00PM

Business office hours: 8:00AM-4:00PM

Recreation center and gymnasium hours: 8:00AM-9:00PM

Sunday

Gates open: 7:00AM - 9:00PM

Offices and buildings closed
