Death to be sought in murders of immigrants

By The Associated Press
ARIVACA, Ariz. - Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against three people charged in an Arizona home invasion that that targeted an immigrant family and left a little girl and her father dead.

Deputy Pima County attorney Kellie Johnson says that her office filed a notice of intent Monday to seek the death penalty against the three which include Shawna Ford, the leader of the Minutemen American Defense border watch group. She's accused of planning the May 30 attack to help fund her anti-immigrant operations.

The trio are alleged to have dressed as law enforcement officers and forced their way into a home about 10 miles north of the Mexican border in rural Arivaca, wounding a woman and fatally shooting her husband and their 9-year-old daughter.
