Family speaks out on Atlanta terror conviction

ATLANTA - Family members are speaking out against the conviction of Ehsanul Islam Sadequee on charges of aiding terrorist groups.

Sadequee faces up to 60 years in prison after he was convicted by a federal jury in Atlanta. His sister Sonali Sadequee said at a Thursday news conference that she was disappointed in the legal system and that her brother's actions and intentions were taken out of context.

Ehsanul Islam Sadequee was the second Georgia terror suspect to be convicted after his friend, Syed Haris Ahmed, was found guilty in June of conspiring to support terrorist groups.

Sadequee was convicted of sending videotapes of U.S. landmarks overseas and plotting to support "violent jihad." He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 15.
