GAINESVILLE - Two admitted gang members were arrested at Gainesville High School the first day of classes after the two became involved in a verbal altercation.
Gainesville police said the two, both 16-year-old Hispanic males, exchanged words and then flashed gang signs at one another while outside the school Tuesday morning. A Gainesville police officer saw the two and escorted them to the principal's office for questioning.
Both juveniles admitted to being gang members and were charged with disorderly conduct and released into the custody of their guardians. One of the males claimed affiliation with the street gang MVS and the other claimed affiliation with the street gang BOE.
