GAINESVILLE - The start of work on Hall County's first road project using economic stimulus money has been delayed for at least a week because of the start of school.
The state Department of Transportation had planned to begin the 9-mile resurfacing of Mt. Vernon Road Monday but because there are two schools on that road and because Monday was the first day of school in Hall County, DOT decided to postponed start of the work until next Monday.
