HOSCHTON - Add Hoschton to the cities and counties in northeast Georgia now requiring unpaid furlough days of their employees.
Mayor Bill Copenhaver said Friday that effective next week city hall will be closed on Fridays 'til further notice. Copenhaver said this is a move the city council had been considering for some time because of declining revenues brought on by the recession.
The mayor said the move affects five people and is expected to save Hoschton "several thousand dollars" a month.
Copenhaver said city hall will be open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., until further notice.
