'Draft' of new Hoschton charter expected by Sept. 10

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
HOSCHTON - Hoschton's Charter Revision Committee is expected to put together a "draft" proposal next week.

The committee made another presentation to the city council Monday night.

Mayor Bill Copenhaver says the final version needs to be ready by about October, in time to get it to the state Legislature. City officials want it ready for consideration by the legislature when it convenes in January. Changes in city charters in Georgia have to get the approval of the state Legislature before they can be enacted.

Hoschton's Charter Revision Committee makes its next progress report to the city council in September.
