CLEVELAND - The jurors who are deliberating the Jonathan Hart murder case in White County Superior Court are apparently stuck on reaching a unanimous decision and have yet to reach a verdict.
Jurors have been deliberating since Wednesday afternoon.
Judge Lynn Alderman received a note from the jury Friday saying that they wanted to replace one of the jurors with an alternate because one juror could not continue in accordance with the instructions given by the court.
Judge Alderman cleared the courtroom and discussed the situation with the jury foreman. The judge declined to replace the juror and sent the foreman back with the message to fellow jurors to continue deliberations.
Around 5 p.m. the jury indicated they would stay as late as 8 p.m. Friday. They said if no decision is reached they will return Saturday morning to pick up the process.
Johnathan Hart is accused of shooting to death his estranged wife Stephanie Hart, a White County 911 operator. She was found dead in his home last July.
