White Co. murder trial resumes Monday

By Dean Dyer/WRWH
CLEVELAND - Jurors for the Jonathan Hart murder trial in White County Superior Court still must hear some vital information that will be presented by the medical examiner.

Testimony began last Tuesday and the 12 jurors and two alternates listen to prosecution witnesses during the first four days of the proceedings. The 22 year old Hart, who is from Cleveland, is accused of the shooting death of his estranged wife, Stephanie Hart, at his home on Lothridge Road in White County last summer.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Douglas Posey is scheduled to take the stand again Monday. Posey had just started providing information to the court late Friday before Judge Lynn Alderman adjourned the proceedings for the weekend. As part of his initial testimony Posy said that Stephanie Hart was shot at very close range.

Attorneys indicated to Judge Alderman that their presentations could last until late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
