Church employee, teacher facing molestation charges

GAINESVILLE - A former church employee and substitute teacher is in the Hall County Jail facing child molestation charges.

Hall County Sheriff's Col. Jeff Strickland said 25-year-old Jacob Allen Morris is accused of molesting an 8-year-old girl in both Hall and Douglas counties.

"Morris is a former employee at Concord Baptist Church where one of the offenses occurred," Strickland said. "It is my understanding that he did work with children there at the facility."

Strickland said Morris is also a former substitute teacher in the Hall County School System. He said there have been no incidents reported from any Hall County School system student.

He said Morris is charged with two counts of Child Molestation in Hall County. Morris is also charged with Aggravated Child Molestation, Child Molestation, Aggravated Sodomy, and Aggravated Sexual Battery in Douglas County.
