Some question plans for White Co. SPLOST vote

By Dean Dyer/WRWH
CLEVELAND - The White County Board of Education hears from the public about continuation of the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) for education.

Some people said they don't think moving ahead with projects in the near future is a good idea given the state of the economy.

Others say there is no reason to spend $12,000 for a special election.

White County school officials say, however, the referendum needs to be held as soon as possible in order to take advantage of low bond rates and low construction costs.
