UNDATED - Several events were held over the weekend in the Gainesville area as part of the celebration of our nation's independence.
Sunday, there was a God and Country Rally at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Gainesville and on Saturday Jefferson staged its Freedom Festival and Lakewood Baptist Church staged its annual Patriotic Celebration.
Others are planned this week, including a special service at Blackshear Place Baptist Church Wednesday night.
It all culminates Friday and Saturday when a number of annual concerts and fireworks displays will be held.
