Truck-motorcycle crash in Winder kills Gwinnett deputy

WINDER - A Gwinnett county sheriff's deputy is dead after a motorcycle crash in Barrow County.

The state patrol says William Edge was killed when a truck ran a stop sign, hit another truck, which slammed into his motorcycle.

It happened about 5:15 Monday afternoon on Atlanta Highway at Bowman Mill Road in Winder. No word on any other injuries or possible charges.

Edge had reportedly been with the sheriff's office for four years and was on his way home from work at the time of the accident
