By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
CUMMING - The city of Cumming is facing possible fines of up to $32,000-a-day for alleged violations of federal clean water laws.

Georgia News Network reports the state Environmental Protection Division (EPD) is investigating reports that the city bulldozed across a stream as part of the planning for a new aquatic center, resulting in extensive soil runoff into Lake Lanier.

Cumming city officials declining comment at this time.
