We have all dealt with them at some point in our lives; maybe it was as young kid on the playground or maybe it was in middle or high school when the last thing that you needed was to be embarrassed in front of your peers. Or maybe your first encounter occurred much later in life. Maybe it was through a relationship or maybe it was during a marriage. It could have occurred at the work place or it might have been due to someone who lived in your neighborhood. The topic of bullying is very much in the news today. It is not a new topic. In fact, there have been bullies around as long as there have been people around. We have approached this issue in several different ways over the years as to how to deal with them. We have tried the passive approach. You know the one where we just let them do what they want hoping that they will just go away. Unfortunately, the result is usually that they do what they want and they do not go away.
